On Thursday, November 29, 2007, Toyota recalled their 49,000 flagship Lexus cars that were sold overseas and produced in Japan in 2005. The recall is being blamed on a faulty fuel pipe design in these Lexus cars. The fuel pipe design cracks and causes corrosion which leads to fuel leakage in these cars. There have only been 39 incidents reported within Japan and no injuries reported. The Lexus GS300, Lexus IS250, Lexus IS350 models were recalled in the United States. I am highly impressed with Toyota for recalling these Lexus cars before anyone is injured and threatens to sue. It seems that American companies could learn from our Japanese friends. I know the Japanese take pride and ownership in their work. It seems that these Lexus cars might be worth the extra money to own them. I remember one of my co-workers, ten years ago, beaming with pride, as he told me about his new Lexus he had just bought. I can see, now, why he was so proud of his Lexus. Here is an interesting video of one of these Lexus cars, so enjoy.
