The Toyota manufacturing group, who own Lexus, said today in Germany that European Lexus dealers hope to triple vehicle sales for the future. They announced that increasing the European Lexus cars sales market is a long-term goal of the company. They are also going to focus on Russian sales, which if keep the current selling pace will double by 2010. It is apparent that Lexus dealers are striving to market themselves as a luxury company on par with BMW and Mercedes. Increasing their company's image has lead to more expensive Lexus cars such as the 2008 LS600h.

Lexus dealers around the world are hoping that hybrid options for luxury cars will catch on and be a large selling point for consumers. I think this is a plausible goal considering that most automotive manufactures are moving towards new power sources. Time and the performance of their hybrid systems will be the main factors that contribute to tripling their European sales. How do you feel about Lexus increasing the price on many of their vehicles? Higher price does mean more technology.
