Auto manufactures around the world are creating new vehicles that run on cleaner, more fuel efficient power sources. When people used to think of Hybrids the Toyota Prius was a make that came to mind. But Lexus dealers will now be able to say that they will have lithium ion batteries in their vehicles before any Toyota Prius has them. Mercedes has too announced that they will be using lithium ion batteries in some of their makes by 2009. The reason that Toyota's fuel efficient driven vehicles will not have the lithium batteries first is that they cost a lot and that negates the whole purpose of the affordable Prius. Toyota will wait for Lexus dealers to showcase the new power source before putting them into their vehicles. Lexus cars are continually staying on top of the green scene and that is a great thing. Look for a NY car show Lexus concept that has a lithium power source next time one comes to town.
