Since New Jersey is well within the 360 mile radius of New York City we can consider some of the New Jersey Lexus dealers as viable competition to New York Lexus dealers as the represent options for those shoppers in NYC looking for a deal from Lexus auto dealers be it a New York Lexus dealer or a Lexus dealer in New Jersey.

From the Google search standpoint I simply entered Lexus New Jersey to be consistent with Lexus New York. If I follow the same methodology and review sponsored ads here are my results below.

Across the top Google Ads show three sponsored Lexus car dealership ads in this order from top to bottom:

Ray Catena Lexus
Ray Catena Lexus Monmouth
Lexus of Cherry Hill

The top listing, Ray Catena Lexus is a listing that also appears in the Lexus New York search sponsored ads.

Along the side we see the standard listing of additional Sponsored Links. I don't know if those ads are less expensive than the top or how Google works all that out for their Adwords subscribers.  Here are those listings:

Prestige Lexus
DiFeo Lexus
Lexus.com - Official Site
Lexus of Westport
Ray Catena Lexus Freehold ( that the third Ray Catena for those counting at home)
Bay Ridge Lexus
Lexus of Lehigh Valley
Lexus of Manhattan

That bottom listing is interesting to me because it shows Lexus dealers in New York compete for New Jersey the same way Lexus dealers in New Jersey target customers in New York.

On the more links page there are additional Lexus dealer links that don't appear to be in the New Jersey regional area at all. The only relevant Lexus car dealership listed here that has not been mentioned is Lexus of Smithfield.

Out of this exercise there is another interesting observation to me. If you search Lexus New York the top slot in the results after Google local results is Lexus of Manhattan. But Lexus of Manhattan also shows up in the sponsored ads and links. When I searched Lexus New Jersey one of the first Lexus dealers in New Jersey on the list is Lawrence Lexus then Lexus of Englewood. Neither of those Lexus dealers are among the dealerships mentioned in the sponsored ads or links.

As you can see there are lots of Lexus dealers to choose from in the New York or New Jersey area. I'm going to compare the Lexus dealer desity her to that of Chicago and Las Vegas to see what the differences are.
