I am going to drive to Los Angeles next week, and think I will try to rent a Lexus. I have a big presentation for a client, and by driving a Lexus to the meeting, I will be able to have a measure of credibility that people in Los Angeles really expect, which is a luxury car. Lexus cars have a great deal of status, and people in Southern California are very status oriented. Some Lexus dealers rent them, and they don't have the car rental company decals on them, so if I want to have them think it's my car, it's best I get it from Lexus dealers instead of the rental agency.

I can't fly for this trip because I have materials to bring that are too big, so driving is imperative. Fortunately, it's only about a six hour drive, depending on traffic, so I should be able to make this a three day trip, two days on the road, and one day at the presentation. I'm looking forward to both the drive and the presentation, and if I get the contract, who knows, maybe I'll be able to buy the car.
